According to the Boy Genius Report, Jay-Z and Apple are preparing to announce a new record label (possibly during MacWorld next week).

I REALLY hope this turns out to be true: if you take Apple's paradigm-shifting approach and bum-rush the crumbling recording industry by embracing technology instead of litigating, it could be the first major step in the ultimate destruction of the pathetic way the music business has gouged the public (and performers) for the last 30 years.
And as a businessman, Jay-Z has often been progressive and ahead of the curve, so this would be a logical step for him. - mister X
