Reports have surfaced that L.A. rap collective Jurassic 5 will be parting ways after a four album run together.
According to Australia's Gold Coast Bulletin, rapper Soup revealed last month that they the group will be calling it quits after a brief tour of the country and several Japan dates.
"After the tour, that's basically it," Soup explained. "I don't want to sit here and fake around with it--we're not seeing eye to eye right now. People see us as a harmonizing, loving group, but that's far from the truth."
Jurassic 5 is composed of Soup, Akil, Marc 7, Chali 2na and DJ Nu Mark. The group was initially six strong including deejay/producer Cut Chemist, who left the group prior to the release of their recent album, Feedback.
Soup pointed out that each member's desire to work on solo projects is the core of the fated breakup.
"Some people may say it's a creative thing, but I'm not buying it. Some might say business, some might say merchandising, whatever, there's some really stupid shit, some really childish things, happening," continued Soup. "[But] when it comes down to it, some people here want their own shine, their own thing. If that's what you want, I say more power to you. I hope it works out for you--just don't come up with lame excuses [for J5's demise]."

A remake of Rudy Ray Moore's 1975 movie Dolemite will finally come to the big screen, almost 30 years after the original movie hit theaters.
The movie centers around a pimp named Dolemite, who is released from prison, after being framed. He fights an assortment of enemies in the film, along with a group of kung-fu fighting prostitutes.
The rights to the movie have been secured by Fallout Entertainment, a company that his produced movies like Posse (which featured Big Daddy Kane), Car 54, Where Are You?, Tapeheads and others.
Fallout Entertainment is in the initial stages of casting for the film and Snoop Dogg is reportedly in negotiations to have a role in the film, which begins shooting this fall in Los Angeles and possibly New Orleans.
Dolemite's popularity was increased by rappers like Ice-T, Ol' Dirty Bastard and Snoop Dogg, who featured Moore in the video for his 1994 hit single "Doggy Dogg World."
Moore, who bills himself as "The Godfather of Rap," also produced classic movies like The Human Tornado, The Monkey Hu$tle, Petey Wheatstraw and Disco Godfather, which were frequently independent theatrical releases.
Moore, 81, will executive produce the new version of Dolemite and he may even be featured in the movie.
In June 2006, Moore was hospitalized in Inglewood, CA, due to a serious illness.
He recently released The Best Of Rudy Ray Moore And Friends, a collection of classic skits and first-time performances by comedians like Billie McAllister, Lady Reed, and Jerry Walker.
In 2001, Dimension Films announced an updated version of the film starring Queens, NY rapper LL Cool J as an "entrepreneur" instead of a pimp, but the movie never saw the light of day.

Redman's upcoming album, Red Gone Wild, isn't even out yet and the New Jersey rapper is looking to the past for his future projects.
"I'm getting back into [the studio] with Muddy Waters 2 right after Red Gone Wild. I already did two songs for it. It ain't gonna be hard, because I'm gonna take it backwards," Redman told AllHipHop.com. "I'ma find old beats that sound like it was [created] during the whole Muddy Waters era. I ain't gonna reach for the new s**t."
Red said that this Muddy Waters continuation would be strictly for his die-hard fans and only hoped to manufacture and distribute the limited edition to the sum of 50,000 units domestically.
Additionally, Red assured that he was going to release a film project that would re-join him with Method Man, a friend and frequent creative collaborator - How High 2.
"The movie is being written - same people," Redman continued. "We getting in the mix right now. Its going to give us some leeway to do something new. I'm trying to direct the movie myself. Its a definite go. To a n***a near you, I don't know when, but its coming."
Red said that he hoped to start filming in late summer or early fall.
"I don't want to be the one to lie [about when it comes out], I gotta bad habit."
Aside from Red Gone Wild, the rapper intends to release another Redman/Method Man Blackout installment and a compilation album with his Gillahouse collective.
Red Gone Wild is due in stores March 27.

Rah Digga has officially departed from Busta Rhymes' Flipmode Squad to pursue other business ventures.
The former first lady of Flipmode, Rah Digga first signed with Flipmode a decade ago and has only released one solo album since.
Her debut album, Dirty Harriet, was released in 2000 and was followed by several mixtape appearances, but another album never materialized.
“We’ve been together for damn near a decade and I haven’t had any success you know, coming out with a follow up album and I just felt like it was time to move on and make different decisions,” Rah Digga told AllHipHop.com. “We are at this stage, Flipmode as a crew, everyone’s been pretty much focused on their own endeavors. Busta’s doing his thing on Aftermath. I mean it was already established before he even got down with Aftermath, it wasn’t gonna be a Flipmode movement over there.”
Although Rah Digga’s mixtape appearances were an excellent way of keeping her name alive in the industry, it was no match to having another solo album released.
“I was working on my album at J Records that was supposed to be released in 2003 and then s**t went awry with them, so after that I was just pretty much keeping my buzz going in the mixtape circuit. After awhile, I just got a little tired of that. I felt like I was just giving away rhymes and doing whole albums and not making a dime from it,” Rah Digga said.
During her ten years as a member of the Flipmode Squad, Rah Digga went on to tackle other ventures including acting.
In 2001, Rah Digga appeared in the horror movie Thirteen Ghosts and the MTV musical Carmen: A Hip-Hopera.
Rah Digga has continued to showcase her talents as an actress and later this year she will star in two films that begin filming in April and October.
“I have one film going straight to DVD that’s gonna film in April, between April and May,” Rah Digga told AllHipHop.com. “I’m gonna be playing an FBI agent. The premise of the film is it’s kind of like one of those Training Day flicks where you got crooked cops and it revolves around these group of drug dealers in anybody’s hood and in the process of them getting ran down on, an FBI agent accidentally gets killed.”
Rah Digga also cleared up a rumor that she has joined an all female rap group being formed by Remy Ma, Shawnna and Jacki-O.
“Both Remi and Shawnna is my peoples and we all represent the Murda Mami’s [female coalition] together, but that doesn’t have anything to do with me leaving the Flipmode,” Rah Digga told AllHipHop.com. “What I gather from a lot of blogging and stuff that I read [is] people are wondering why I didn’t join the group, being that we all represent Murda Mami’s, but that’s not anything of interest to me. They just my peoples.”
Despite the label drama and her pursuit of acting, Rah Digga has not forgotten about rapping.
During the next few weeks, she will be holding a competition on her website, www.rahdiggamusic.com, to find an artist to appear on her upcoming mixtape.
Rah Digga's next album is titled Sucker Free and will be released exclusively via iTunes this summer.
