One of the lucky ladies from the first season of "Flavor of Love" has won another moment in the spotlight.
According to the entertainment magazine Variety VH1 is planning a spinoff of "Flavor of Love" starring one of the female oddballs from the series' first season.
The show will work similarly to ABC's "The Bachelorette" while incorporating some of the zany elements that have popularized "Flavor of Love." Viewers can expect a diverse cast of male contestants - ranging from lawyers to rappers and even the unemployed, all in competition for the love of Flav's former romantic interest.
While the network still hasn't disclosed which "Flavor of Love" contestant has been picked to star, VH1 has already approved production for 10 episodes of the currently untitled spinoff series. Production is scheduled to begin at the end of September, with the show airing in 2007.
"Flavor of Love" and "Flavor of Love 2" executive producers Mark Cronin and Chris Abrego who are also producing the new series, have decided that after two seasons it may be time to put the "Flavor of Love" series to rest.
"We are developing new show ideas with him," Chris Abrego said. "We think it's time for him to do something new. He's funny and a likable character."
After releasing several classic albums as a member of Public Enemy, Flavor Flav is readying the release of his first solo album, Flavor Flav! on his own Draytown Records.
The rapper has recorded several albums throughout his career, but none have ever been released. Flavor Flav enters uncharted territory on the album, by singing two R&B songs, "Let It Show" and "Two Wrongz (Don't Make a Right)."
"I'm saying some, real true positive stuff in there, too," Flavor Flav continued. "Once they get used to it, I think people can accept me singing."
The first single from the album is the rap/rock single "Flavor Man."
The new season of VH1's reality series Flavor of Love is the latest in a string of television successes for the rapper. The rapper appeared in The Surreal Life (2003), Strange Love (2005) and most recently, 2006's Flavor of Love.
The show features 20 girls who compete in elimination style competition, all in an attempt to find the right woman for Flavor Flav.
When the second series of "Flavor of Love" premiered in Aug. 2006, the show drew over 3 million viewers, making it the most watched series debut in VH1's history.
Flavor Flav is currently planning a new album and tour of the United States with Public Enemy.
"Flav is beyond limits. I'm just gonna keep going and going and going and going and going until I can't go no more."
The legendary hype man planned on releasing solo albums several times, but the projects never dropped. Now Flav, who plays many instruments, is readying to drop a full-length solo LP. "Flavor Man" will serve as the first single. But don't expect Flav to start putting albums out.
"I got some things off my chest, but not all," Flav said in a statement. "I doubt I will ever do another one, though. What I'm gonna do is make this one a collector's item. My first and only solo album, ever." In addition to rapping and producing, heads can expect to hear Flav sing an R&B record on the album. He will also hit the road for a mini U.S. tour and is also working on a new record with Public Enemy.
Flavor Flav's self-titled solo debut is scheduled to hit stores on October 31st.
Currently in its second season, "Flavor of Love" airs on Sunday nights on VH1.

Independent of Williams, her father allegedly petitioned for visitation rights to see his grandson more often. In late 2004, Dash sold his interest in Roc-a-Fella Records to parent company Island Def Jam Records for $10 million, along with the sale of his share in Rocawear Clothing for $30 million to former business partner Jay-Z.
