In the event you haven't heard, 50 Cent showed his ass at Summerjam '04, 50 came out dissing R. Kelly and throwing the mic down in disgust before exiting the stage. 50 started his crew's set by cuing up the famous Summer Jam screen. As anyone familiar with Summer Jam will tell you, if another artist puts you up on the screen, it's not to give you props.

Last year 50 put Ja Rule on blast, and this year he had more in store for his longtime foe, introducing the "Grannie Awards," a pre-taped mock awards show. After announcing the nominees for Wackest Rapper — Ja, Joe Budden and Murder Inc.'s Black Child — 50 said it was three-way tie. Other Grannies went to Lil' Kim for having the most plastic surgery, The Source for being the worst hip-hop magazine, and BeyoncĂ© for being the sexiest.

Tony Yayo, who was making his first public appearance since being released from jail, came out with enough energy to make Busta Rhymes look sedate, yelling, "I'm Tony Yayo, the talk of New York!" The rest of the Unit (with the exception of the absent Game) came out on four-wheel bikes.

The familiar favorite "What Up Gangsta" got things jumping. Then 50 attacked the Inc. again by teasing "I Smell Pu---" and "Back Down" before letting Lloyd Banks lead the charge with his solo offerings "Warrior" and "On Fire."

Flames rose from the stage before Banks started rhyming, "Nah, I ain't putting nothing out, I smoke when I wanna." The theme of defiance stayed prevalent with Young Buck, who performed the solo cut "Let Me In."

With the drama coming from the speakers, tensions started spewing from the crowd when members of the audience began throwing chairs at the G-Unit. According to witnesses, the chair tossers wore Silver Back Guerilla T-shirts, a crew whose members whose members have had a long-running feud with 50.

The ruckus didn't stop the show or even faze the Unit. The music kept going, and when the records stopped for a few seconds, Yayo simply told the crowd, "Something always happens when the G-Unit is around."

As the Unit pressed on with their set, 50 performed "In Da Club," "P.I.M.P." and introduced the new first lady of G-Unit, Olivia, who stars in Banks' "Smile" video. Lloyd rapped to her during his live performance of the cut.

Guest star Joe then came out for his two collaborations with the G-Unit, "Wanna Get to Know You" and "Ride Wit U." Although it seemed like fans were rocking with the G-Unit, the response apparently wasn't what 50 had hoped for. He told the people they shouldn't be frontin' and standing still. "I want y'all to know I know you love me," he said sarcastically.

50 also asked the audience if it was ready to see R. Kelly, and when the crowd screamed, he mocked Kelly's step dance and his sex-tape scandal. Later, after G-Unit DJ Whoo Kid said their time was up and they had to leave, 50 dared the police to come get him. The grand finale of "Stunt 101" wasn't so grand. After 50 performed his verse, he cut Banks off as his friend began to spit. Still unhappy with the crowd, 50 huffed, threw his mic down and left.

Barely a week following Summer Jam 2, countless newspapers, websites and hip-hop fans are still talking about 50's disappointing set. Though shots aimed at Lil Kim and Ja Rule initially drew a little laughter, most were annoyed that 50 dwelled on beefs from the past. Additionally, 50s little tit-for-tat with former G-Unit member Bang Em Smurf's crew, The Silverback Gorillas, has folks a bit peeved with the G-Unit general. After being booed in his hometown, many speculate that 50 will soon be the recipient of a backlash similar to Ja Rule if he doesn't humble himself soon.

Weeks ago, a video clip featuring Jay-Z "mushing" a woman in the face surfaced on the internet. The brief clip shows Hov entering a backstage area seemingly irritated before proceeding to "mush" a woman twice in front of his entourage, who watch without intervening. Many websites have reported on the clip, accusing Jay-Z of a recent assault on an innocent woman.

In fact, the video clip is nearly five years old, taken from footage in the 1999 movie Backstage, which highlighted the successful Hard Knock Life Tour. The woman in the clip is a Roc-A-Fella Records marketing executive and the hand-to-face action is some harmless rough-housing between "close friends." This is the official word on the clip, confirmed late Friday night by Roc-A-Fella Records.

According to the Associated Press, R&B and "still ghetto" singer Jaheim has pleaded not guilty to drug charges after authorities say a police officer stopped him on an outstanding traffic warrant and found 25 plastic bags of marijuana in his car.

The 27-year-old, was released Tuesday night. While awaiting his arraignment Tuesday, the singer told his lawyer that he was the victim of police harassment, The Star-Ledger of Newark reported.

"I've got to file this lawsuit today, I'm serious," Jaheim said. "I just want them to leave me alone. They really violated me this time." On Monday, a Hillsborough patrolman ran a check Jaheim’s license plate and then stopped the vehicle because of an outstanding warrant stemming from an unpaid ticket. He also was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge and faces a hearing in municipal court next month.

Police said Jaheim got out of his car during the traffic stop Monday and berated the officer, who then took him into custody. The officer then searched the car after smelling burnt marijuana.

(They smell weed when the pull you over for your warrant and find 25 bags of weed? Jaheim, good luck with that law suit, dude - Rob)

'Rubberband Man' T.I., who has been in jail since April on a probation violation charge, was somehow able to film an unauthorized music video from jail under the noses of prison officials.

"We did find out there was some sort of video being shot," Huber said. "There is a lot we're still looking into," Lt. Clarence Huber told the AP. Fulton County Sheriff Jackie Barrett, who is responsible for the jail, was also puzzled to learn of the filming.

Authorities are trying to determine who gave permission to film the video and how prison a camera crew was allowed to gain access to the 3,200-inmate facility.

Clifford "T.I.",Harris, has been in jail for violating probation for a 1998 drug conviction. The Atlanta-based rapper has racked up various probation violations in several Georgia counties for offenses ranging from marijuana to firearm possession. Harris received probation in 1998 for giving false information to authorities and possessing controlled substances. Police issued an arrest warrant Harris in December 2003. He turned himself in to officials in April and has been held in police custody. He will have to serve at least one year and will then be eligible to apply for a work-release program.

Ironically, another prisoner escaped from the jail the same night TI's unauthorized video was being shot. However, authorities say the cases are unrelated. The jail has already been under scrutiny after a recent report cited the facility as becoming increasingly dangerous and unhealthy because of crowding and inadequate security.
