May 28, 2004

"...in 2004 / and these motherf#@$ers still don't got a release date for the M.O. / P; ni99as got me pissed off; Chest all swole / like an inmate waiting to see the parole board..."
That's what a fed-up Lil Fame spits on "Let It Go," the blazing hot street-banger from Cormega featuring M.O.P. Fame explodes onto the head-banging track with this subliminal diss to Roc-A-Fella Records, where M.O.P. has been waiting in the wings since their April 2002 signing.

August release. But in the meantime, they're taking the opportunity to lay the smackdown on their fellow Latino mamacita, J-Lo. On "Confused Rappers" JuJu delivers a verbal spanking to J-Lo for improperly lifting "Watch Out Now" for what has now become her trademark single, "Jenny From the Block."

"...you know you haven't been to the block for a minute / getting all the little Latin girls to bite / when you really can't sing and your no Salma Hayek."

In support of his newest S. Carter II sneaker, Young Hova recently released S. Carter The Remix. The mixtape CD features remixes from The Black Album cuts "99 Problems," "Encore," "Threat" and "Allure." While Just Blaze handles the boards for most of the project, the CD also includes production from underground staples such as Little Brother's 9th Wonder, who gives "December 4th" and "My 1st Song" makeovers while Mad Lib revamps "Threat."

The final roster for Hot 97's 11th annual Summer Jam was announced this week. Kanye West, G-Unit featuring 50 Cent, Jadakiss, Lil Jon and The Ying Yang Twins, Chingy, Twista and Alicia Keys will all hit New York's Giant Stadium's main stage. Big Boi of Outkast will be performing without Andre "Ice Cold" 3000. Ice Cold has long said that he wouldn't tour to support Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. However, he has popped up on the Grammys' stage and he and Big Boi have recently performed "Roses" at several late night talk shows.

For the first time in 11 years, the Summer Jam will also include a second stage. Erick Sermon, dead prez, Lil Wayne, Posta Boy, Philly's Most and Roc Music artists Allen Anthony, Nicole Ray, Denim and Rell will perform on the second stage. The mega-concert will also include a fashion show, freestyle battle areas and booths for sponsors.
