The straight dope on what's going on in Hip-Hop, Media and Entertainment

Jun 5, 2003

Is this a new wave of beefing in hip-hop? Dissing another emcee cause he can’t act? Well it looks like Method Man is doing just that. Backstage at the MTV Movie Awards this past Saturday Meth had some unflattering remarks about Snoop Dogg.

"Honestly, I think he's one of the worst rap actors in the game right now. There's a bunch of us and he's one of the worst ones," Meth said. “And Snoop knows that, but Snoop's a hustler. He's gonna keep his face out there." He's a personality," Meth continued. "He's like ODB. Even though he keeps fucking up, there's somebody out there who wants to see him."

Meth later went back on his comments saying, "We're not Will Smiths yet," he said. "When I say he's the worst out of all of us, I mean all of us aren't actors. I was playing. When I seen him in 'Half Baked,' he did his thing. That was Snoop...I got love for Snoop when Snoop plays Snoop parts...Me and Red ain't actors, we suck too...I'm not sh--ting on him. That's my nigga right there."

Hot 97’s Summerjam X detail: Eminem destroyed one of his Source awards on stage to a huge ovation, 50 Cent received a similar ovation when he showed his “How To Identify A beeyatch Ass ni99a" video featuring corny Murder Inc. video clips. Even funnier, Nelly got heartily booed and Lil’ Kim couldn’t keep her silicon mammaries in her top. Although he was supposed to perform sans Jay-Z disses, Nas broke Ether out to negative response. Nas won the audience back when he brought out none other than the Blastmaster, KRS-One. Always one of hip-hop’s best ever performers, he kicked classic renditions of “South Bronx” and “The Bridge Is Over.”
