According to sources close to the label, word is that last night, Def Jam Records has kicked Murder Inc Records out of their building pending the FBI investigations. The label is currently being investigated on their relationship with former drug kingpin, Kenneth 'Supreme' McGriff and if they allocated drug money from McGriff to launch Murder Inc Records.
McGriff has already served time in prison for his past life as a drug kingpin but when he was released in the late 90s, a relationship between himself and Irv Gotti began. Gotti and the rest of the Murder Inc fam continue to deny the allegations that the label was launched off of drug money, but federal authorities are continuing to investigate and is currently building a large case against McGriff, who is currently locked up on an unrelated weapons possessions incident.
The possibility of Murder Inc being involved with drug money may have been too much for parent company, Def Jam to take, resulting in the label telling Irv Gotti and his staff to leave.
