The straight dope on what's going on in Hip-Hop, Media and Entertainment

Dec 19, 2002

Saturday two weeks ago, Ja Rule was on radiostation Kiss 107.9 in Cleveland, Ohio. He blamed his afro-american audience for the poor sales of his latest LP, The Last Temptation. He said they've gone against him and they should be more supportive.

He also claimed that he's the most talented rapper in the industry, but at the same time said he was responsible for most of last year's R&B hits.

(With white folks representing about 2/3 of hip hop sales, I think Mr. Rule is pointing the finger in the wrong direction, and probably putting the nail in his career's coffin as well. Mr. Rule. . .Ja, maybe folks have realized you're selling shit and they don't want to buy it anymore. As for his comment about being the "most talented rapper in the industry," think that'sa joke in and of itself and requires no further comment. - Rob Boombostic)
