The straight dope on what's going on in Hip-Hop, Media and Entertainment

Sep 27, 2002

Bill O'Reilly, who recently got alot of attention for criticizing Pepsi for signing an endorsement deal with Ludacris which eventually resulted in Pepsi pulling the contract, is now taking aim at Snoop. Seems like O'Reilly has a problem with Snoop's appearance on an upcoming Muppet's NBC Christmas special. O 'Reilly brings up the fact that Snoop has served time, used to smoke weed, has made porno films, has gang affiliation, etc, etc, etc. He's also criticizing Macy's Department store which is scheduled to carry Snoop's line of clothing.

O'Reilly acknowledges that Snoop has gone on record about changing his ways and reportedly stopped smoking weed and drinking. O'Reillysays he doesn't care about all that because Snoop has already corrupted millions of kids. He feels like Snoop is being rewarded for terrible behavior and therefore should not be allowed to enter the mainstream

He says he doing it for the kids and to better America

(Let's be honest, he's doing it for the ratings. The shit with Ludacris got him so much free press, he figured he'd try it again. Listen, Mr. O'Reilly, hip hop and, in particular, Snoop is already mainstream. More kids can already point him out in a crowd than can even recognize your damn name. You're too late. Relax & step off. Let a brotha make a dollar. - Mr. Boombostic)
