According to the Hollywood Reporter, Queen Latifah, who is in three upcoming movies, plans to return to series TV as detective Mali Anderson on CBS next year. Latifah, whose upcoming films include ''Brown Sugar,'' ''Chicago,'' and ''In the Houze,'' will play Harlem-based private eye Mali Anderson, the protagonist in a series of mystery novels by Grace F. Edwards. It'll be the rapper's first regular TV acting gig since her sitcom ''Living Single'' left the air in 1998 after five years.
